Student Voice aims to: Represent the views of students within the academy. Create an opportunity to participate in real decision-making. Provide opportunities for students to develop their skills and confidence. Introduce and develop initiatives which promote 'Student Voice' wideness the school. Communicate the Student Voice work unmistakably to students, staff, governors and the wider school polity by utilising a variety of trendy and traditional media. Constitution of the Student Voice 1. Name HeartlandsSeminarStudent Voice (HASC), will be referred to in the constitution as the ‘School Council’. 2. Objectives of theSteeringTheSteeringexists to: Represent the views of all students to staffModernizethe environment in which all pupils learn, work and play Develop social skills in all students by sharing responsibilities with staff or other relevant persons/organisations 3. Aims of theSteeringTheSteeringexists to: Allow students the opportunity to share/air there views and opinions regarding decisions that affects them Encourage students from all year groups to work together to maintain harmony within the school environment Engage students in the visualization making process Develop leaders 4. Membership of theSteeringThe SchoolSteeringis divided into two areas, known as ‘Year Council’ and ‘Student Council’. YearSteeringThis consist of two students from each tutor group - one boy and one girl. There duties will be to: Represent the views, opinions and interest of their tutor group. Actively participate in all discussions. Meet formally with other student representatives of their year group and decide ways of consulting with the rest the student in the year group. Report to their tutor group the views and opinions expressed within the YearSteeringmeetings. StudentSteeringThis consist of two students from each year group - one boy and one girl. Their duties will be to: Represent the views, opinions and interest of their year group. Actively participate in all discussions. Meet formally with other student representatives of all the year groups and decide ways of consulting with the rest the student in the school. Report to the members of the year steering views and opinions expressed within the StudentSteeringmeetings. 5. Officers of theSteeringThe officers of the school steering include a chair, a vice-chair, secretary and a vice secretary Roles of the Officer: Chairman Is to chair and tenancy school led meetings ensuring that everyone has equal endangerment to requite their opinions and moreover to take overall and full responsibilities for the School Council. The Chairman must represent the SchoolSteeringon towardly occasions. Vice-Chairman Is to squire the Chairman in the execution of their responsibilities and to imbricate in specimen of absence.
